Dr. Glenn Sammis
Prof. Glenn Sammis received a B.Sc. in Chemistry with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University in 1999. He then went to work with Prof. Eric Jacobsen at Harvard University as an NSF Predoctoral fellow, obtaining a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2004. After a two-year NIH postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. Erik Sorensen at Princeton University, he joined the Chemistry Department at the University of British Columbia where he is now a full Professor. Prof. Sammis has built an internationally recognized research group working on the development of novel radical and fluorination processes for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. He currently serves as the Scientific Director of the Concurrent Disorders Fellowship at Vancouver General Hospital and is the UBC Director of Health and Safety for the Faculty of Science.
