Dr. Matthew A. Roberts

Dr. Matthew Roberts received his Ph.D. in Toxicology from Cornell University, an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, and a B.Sc. in Molecular Biology from Purdue University. Over the past 25 years, he has held C-Suite leadership roles with companies leading their industry including Nestlé, Abbott, Pharmavite, and Niagen Bioscience. At Nestlé, he established a corporate venture fund focused on health innovation, and at Abbott, he co-led a public-private partnership with the University of Illinois to create the Center for Nutrition, Learning, and Memory. At Niagen Bioscience, formerly ChromaDex, he expanded the external research program, which has resulted in over 200 peer-reviewed publications, global regulatory approvals for the company’s products, and new categories of business, all targeting mitochondrial dysfunction. He also advises and publishes peer reviewed work with a range of emerging companies and nonprofit foundations focused on scientific and technological innovation in human health.
